Background:
The Dymchurch District Royal British Legion Club, founded in 1925, is home to a thriving community of approximately 1000 members, including around 35% ex-servicemen and women. The remaining members are Associate members who actively contribute to the club’s vibrant atmosphere and events. In 2019, recognising the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment, the club made the strategic decision to install a comprehensive video surveillance system.
Problem:
The Dymchurch District Royal British Legion Club invited proposals from multiple companies for the installation of an interior and exterior CCTV solution, including monitors/screens and necessary connections. The club’s requirements included complete coverage of the social club’s interior and exterior, with a focus on customer areas and the back of the bar. The system needed to include security cameras to provide 50 days of recording functionality and allow for remote mobile access. Additionally, the exterior cameras were required to cover both the Royal British Legion Club premises and the adjacent house garden, which serves as an additional outside seating area during the summer.

MPR Technical Services conducted a thorough site survey and proposed the installation of 8 HIKVision dome cameras, 2 Bullet cameras, a 16-channel 4k NVR unit, and two 6TB HDDs for 50 days of recording. They also installed two screens to monitor the secure door entry area and all cameras from the onsite office. To exclude the public sea wall area, the software in the NVR unit was configured accordingly.
